One of the main roles of the Mayor will be to manage and improve local transport infrastructure. It's a key part of everything we do, and of our economy. Ben has four key transport priorities:
1) Fix the roads, with new investment in proper resurfacing rather than short term repairs.
2) Fill the gaps in the bus network so that everyone has access to a decent local public transport system, with integrated timetables and ticketing so you can get around more easily.
3) Deliver new rail services and infrastructure, and get more Government investment in rail for our area. Ben will pull all the various projects and opportunities together in to one clear plan for the first time, so we can access the funding to get them done.
4) Develop a plan for walking and cycling infrastructure that is fit for purpose for our communities, rather than just being tied to national rules that are only designed for cities and not relevant to much of our area.
Ben Bradley is the only candidate with the knowledge and experience of running local transport, and the only one who can tell you HOW he'll do these things.
